Kathryn Marie Weatherwax

Our lives were blessed again on June 25, 2009 with the birth of our second daughter, Kathryn Marie. After my OB appointment earlier in the day (still being 1cm) we scheduled my induction for June 28th (today!). Well, baby Weatherwax had other plans! My contractions started around midnight and she arrived at 6:31am - things moved very quickly! After two pushes and the announcement of "It's a girl" our lives are forever changed! Kathryn is a very content baby and so peaceful. She looks a lot like her big sister too! She weighed 7lbs 10 oz and is 20 inches long. Kathryn is named after her Great Grandmother, aka "GG."

Speaking of big sister - Emma has been wonderful. She was hesitant at first, but quickly warmed up. She likes to hold, kiss, and help burp sister Kate. Her "Hi baby Kate" is too cute. We couldn't have asked for a more smooth transition (at this point!).

Again, we couldn't have asked for much more during this process! We are so lucky to have such caring and supportive family and friends.

Father's Day and 40 weeks!

Father's Day weekend was a good one. John played a round of golf Saturday morning and in the afternoon we hosted my family. On Sunday we headed to Dayton to celebrate with the Weatherwax's. Emma and I had arts and craft time last week to make special gifts for Daddy and both Grandpa's. Emma doesn't like to get her hands dirty so we used brushes! Here is a picture of our little artist!!Baby Weatherwax is still baking in the oven! :) He/She is due on Wednesday (6/24) - and John and I cannot wait. We have enjoyed our special one on one time with our Emma. Each night we put her to sleep, we wonder if this may be the "last night" as a family of three. I wonder how life could possibly get better - we will soon see. I appreciate my wonderful family and friends for their love, support, texts, calls, and cards during this exciting time! We'll keep you posted!

Got Corn?

Emma discovered a new favorite food tonight at our friends' Kendra and Jimmy's house...Corn on the cob! It was a riot - she's a left to right eater! Not many kernels were left on the cob! Later - she performed a somersault all on her own! She was quite the performer tonight!

Big Countdown!

This pregnancy has flown by! I am 38 weeks now - hard to believe! Yesterday, we had an ultrasound and things are looking good. Below is a pic - the baby is lying on his/her back and its a side profile picture of his/her face. BW weighs about 7 pounds and was moving all over the place! I am at 1cm and 70% effaced - so I still have some time. But, I guess I should get my bags packed? :)
Big Sis Emma is doing well! Earlier this week, she enjoyed a mini-vacation to Grandma W's to spend some time with her cousins Mary and Grace! Emma tried to keep up with the girls (who needs a nap?) and she enjoyed going to the park, Chic-fil-A, singing and dancing. When Emma returned to Columbus - we all enjoyed a nice meal at the new Montgomery Inn that recently opened - Yummy!!

Catching up!

The Spicers came for an overnight trip a couple weeks ago. The kids played in the yard, took a wagon ride to the park, chased bubbles, and wrapped up the night with a bath and story time! On Saturday morning we loaded up the strollers, headed downtown and walked the Komen Race for the Cure 5k with 45,000 other people! Laura is expecting a baby girl in August!
Memorial Day weekend was a fun one. Kim and Jim went to the Kenny Chesney concert here in Columbus, so John and I had 3 kids for the evening. We were busy to say the least! The kids loved to chase each other around and have "dance parties." Sunday we went to the Reds/Indians game in Cincinnati. Here is Emma was sporting her Indians gear from Papa!

Also, check what my sister introduced Emma to in our basement...Thanks Kim!!!! (FYI - the video was taken on John's cell phone - so the sound is a little funky).

Mother's Day

We were able to spend Mother's day with both of our Moms this past weekend. Saturday we headed to the Nati and Sunday we were in Dayton. I am so blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful Mothers and role models! Here are some pictures of the weekend!

Emma and her cousins James and Hailey! Big Smiles with Grandma Z!
