Happy Halloween

Belle and Snow White posing by their pumpkin that Daddy and Grandpa Weatherwax carved
The girls had fun trick or treating at school, at our community event called "Spooktacular," at Great Grandma and Grandpa's assisted living, and on Halloween night! Needless to say, we have plenty of candy!

Happy 1st Halloween Sage! His sister's costumes helped give him a little bling glitter on his cheeks - oh he's in for it!

Trips to the pumpkin patch

I love fall! Sweaters, jeans, beautiful trees, my favorite Yankee Pumpkin Spice candle, and trips to fall festivals and trips to the pumpkin patch!

Both girls had field trips to Miller's Country Garden in Delaware, Ohio with school.

1 week old!

What a great week we have had! We even had to celebrate with a "Happy 1 week old" cake at Grandma and Grandpa Weatherwax's house. I'm still amazed that he is here with us. He is a sweet little boy. We headed to see Dr. Buendia on Monday for a 5 day check up. His weight at birth 6lbs8oz, and his discharge weight was 6lbs4oz. At the doctor we were 6lbs5oz which was good. I think that Emma has a doll that weighs more than he does. He had minimal jaundice and his "boy operation" is healing nicely! He has been nursing well. We are still transitioning from changing girl diapers to boy diapers - quite an adjustment when you have to be "on guard" at all times.

He likes to sleep all day and party all night! I have been blessed with 3 children who have their days/nights mixed up. The great thing about being a 3 time mom is that I know that everything is a phase, and it WILL get better, it will just take some time. Luckily, I have a great mother and mother in law who have helped take care of my girls in the am, so that when I don't go to bed until 4am, they are there to get up with Kate at 6am.

The girls helped me give Sage his first bath!
Emma helped me wash him and brush his hair, and Kate was in charge of the lotion.

We headed out Monday for Sage's first stroll around the neighborhood. It was nice to get some fresh air and get out of the house!

He found his thumb - who hoo!!

Sage meets the family...

Sage and Great Grandpa Weatherwax. Sage is named after his Great-Great Grandpa Weatherwax. The Weatherwax tradition is that you take your father's name as your middle name.

Here are the 4 generations of Weatherwax men. The ages span from days to 87+ years - amazing.

The whole Weatherwax clan

GG came for a visit this week. She knitted the hat and booties that Sage has been sporting all week long.

GG had the secret touch to keep Sage's eyes open!

Grandma and Papa and their 5 grandchildren. James is excited to have another boy cousin and Hailey loves playing with babies!

More Hospital Pics...

We had a wonderful experience at Riverside. Our nurses couldn't have been nicer. We had many visitors, and we appreciate all of those who took time to visit us. We stayed 2 nights and took advantage of the nursery to get some rest. Below are some of my favorite pics from the duration of our hospital stay.

Happy Birthday Sage!

Our sweet baby boy decided to arrive a couple weeks early! I woke up at 3:30am and found that I had broken my water. After a few minutes and finally convincing myself that today was the day, I woke John up and we got cleaned up and headed to the hospital. On arrival I was only 2cm, but I quickly progressed with the help of a pitocin drip. Before I knew it, I had my epidural and I was fully dilated ready to push!

Viola! After a couple pushes he came right out! Hello world!

The proud parents.

He's a little peanut! 6 lbs 8 oz and 20 in

Big sisters Emma and Kate were the first ones in to meet him

In just a matter of minutes, my sweet little girls grew up in front of my eyes!

We had a great baby RN who let Emma and Kate help with Sage's first bath, and Emma got to help count Sage's fingers and toes. It was precious!

Only Sage would have a set of clubs on his first day of life -compliments of John's best friend Derek!

Thank you to all who supported us during this exciting time! Your love, prayers, and friendship is greatly appreciated and truly cherished by each one of us.

(And for those of you who are concerned about our location in regards to Zainesville, there have been no wild animal sightings near Riverside Hospital!)
