Thanksgiving 2011

This year Thanksgiving was spent at home, well mostly at my in-laws who live just down the road here in Dublin. Regardless, the 3 minute drive home was so nice with Sage being so small. The food was more than fabulous, and it was great catching up with the Crider and LePage families. We had a Euchre tournament, the girls went shopping, the boys went to the shooting range, and Emma and Kate kept us entertained with their outgoing personalities.

Because we stayed home this year, we met my parents halfway to have lunch last Tuesday and Papa could see his "little ones."

I am so thankful for so many things that I couldn't possibly list them here on my blog. I have a wonderful husband who supports me and loves me like no other person even when I am sleep deprived and tired, and 3 beautiful healthy children who never cease to amaze me and make me smile. I have the most amazing family who has helped us immensely the past month and a half. And...I will be so very thankful when I get a full nights sleep! :)

In our bathroom there is a sunlight, and often the sunlight passes through our shower door and a rainbow appears. Usually Sage sits in his pumpkin seat while I shower, and this is what happened.

On November 19th, Sage was sporting his scarlet and grey for the Buckeyes!

Visit to the doctor...with all 3 kids!

We headed to see Dr. Buendia on Thursday for Sage's 3 week and Emma's 4 year appointments. Sage now weighs 7lb8oz (25th percentile) and is 20 3/4th inches (25-50th percentiles). He is giving us a couple 4-5 hour stretches at night. He is a sweet little guy and he is changing so fast! Knowing how my girls were "hefty" little ladies, Dr. Buendia commented, wouldn't it be something if he's the smallest? Time will tell! Good thing golf isn't a height dependent sport! haha. His baby pictures look a lot like Kate's newborn pictures at this point.


Emma weighs 47lbs (90-95th percentile) and is 42 inches tall (90th percentile). She is measuring the size of a 5-6 year old. She's a healthy little lady, and thank goodness that she grew out of the wheezing phase that she experienced during her first two years of life! The girls were fascinated with their brother's exam. The girls both got their flu shots and neither of them flinched or cried (I am serious!!!). Mom W accompanied me to the doctor for a little extra support, but overall, I think we had a great trip to the doctor!

Happy 4th Birthday Emma!

Yes, our sweet Emma Jeanne turned 4 today. It is quite amazing to think about how our lives have changed since she was born. She is the perfect older sister and first child. She is a creative and driven young lady and her memory is quite scary at times. Emma helped me decorate our party plate above.
Since Sage came early,we were able to have our family and Emma's good friends over for a party yesterday.

Emma got tons of wonderful gifts - princess items, a barbie doll, clothes, a purse, a Bengals jersey, puzzles, etc. Emma was excited to get her 2011 Topps complete set from Papa!

Emma also got a fabulous waitress outfit from Grandma and Grandpa W. Playing restaurant is one of our favorite activities. If she masters the roller skates - you might see her at your local Sonic!

Growing up, we would be able to have a special box of cereal for our birthday. Emma had been asking me for "those colored cheerios" for a while, so fruit loops for breakfast it was!

John and I got Emma her first bike for her birthday.

I was actually quite impressed with Emma's bike skills. Within 10 minutes, she was off on her own and made a few trips around our street. Whenever she would see a neighbor, she'd announce "Look at me. I am riding my new bike!"

Emma and I went to church this morning. As we were getting ready, Emma grabbed a couple dollars from her birthday money to give to the church offering. At that moment I was so proud of her. She is growing up so fast. I am so lucky to have a sweet little girl like Emma. She has been wonderful help to me with the arrival of Sage. John and I are so proud of the beautiful young lady she has become. We are blessed!
