2014 Wrap-up

Above all, being together with family and friends truly makes the holiday special. We continue to be blessed each and every year and the root of this is a great family.  I appreciate everyone who follows our blog or periodically checks in to see what's going on with our family.  We are honestly on the ride of our life and we enjoy every moment.  I love that this blog allows me to highlight, capture and document special pictures/stories.  I guess this is the Millennium's version of an extended baby book.  Again, I am humbled each day as a working parent and all the "fun "that comes along with it.

Our Christmas

Christmas is a magical part of the year.  I love watching the children and seeing their excitement.  Before bed, the kids left Santa a letter, cookies, carrots and a glass of milk.  Kate thought we should leave Santa Diet Coke, but Emma said that milk would go better with the cookies.  Only my children!

Merry Christmas 2015!!

Sage got his favorite, a John Deere Tractor.  He would open a gift and say "Yeah" which sounded like "Yeeehh-yehhh" quickly followed by "Daddy, will you open this please?"

 Kate got her Frozen guitar!

 Santa brought us tickets to see Taylor Swift in September!

 The kids had as much fun giving gifts this year as they did receiving.  It was awesome to see their excitement in buying and giving other people gifts.  Emma shopped at the Gingerbread store at school. She gave me a cookbook and John a speaker.  

 Kate gave us an adorable hand-print manger scene.

Aunt Bec takes the kids out for an evening of shopping (for us) and dinner before Christmas.  They bought me a beautiful top, necklace and scarf and John got an adorable pastel bow-tie (Kate insisted!), socks, gym shorts and gym shirt.  It was precious!  Thanks Aunt Rebecca :)

 Kate gave Emma and Sage a Snackeez.  These have been a huge hit in our house.

We finished our morning off with a family breakfast.  Here's our selfie :)

And if anyone was wondering - my children got plenty of wear out of their holiday outfits!  Haha!

Weatherwax Christmas

Cheers to Weatherwax Christmas (with Sprite of course)!   We went to 4 o'clock mass on Christmas Eve and then back to the Weatherwax's for an appetizer dinner and presents.  

Our Family

 On the 23rd we actually showed up at Grandma and Grandpa's front doorstep for a family sleepover!  Ever since the Weatherwax's moved from Dayton we haven't had a sleepover (because its only a 5 minute drive home).  We played games and had fun!

 Grandma and Grandpa gave Sage an OSU helmet and uniform set.  He "took a knee" for an adorable photo.  Shortly after Sage put on the helmet, he walked over to John and said "Daddy, you take me to a Buckeyes game next year?"  So sweet!

Zinser Christmas

 Cheers to another Zinser Christmas (with sparkling grape juice of course!).  It is always fun to go "home" to where you grew up. You can tell that the kids are growing up because everyone can sit and watch each other open gifts without getting too excited.

After we opened gifts we headed to Xavier University to see "Amahl and the Night Visitors."  This play/musical/opera has become part of our Zinser holiday tradition.  Its a beautiful story about the true meaning of Christmas.  My Dad states that he's probably seen the show 30+ times and I bet my sister and I have seen it over 15 times.  Passing on family traditions to the next generation is great.  

 The annual cousin photo on the steps by their stockings.  Obviously, we snap all the group photos before we start opening gifts.  Its not bribery, its just encouraging them to take a good photo!  Ha!

Letters to Santa

 What a keepsake from Emma.

Kate asked for frozen Eggs, Frozen Guitar, and a pink chair.

 Along with cookies, milk and carrots, the girls wanted to leave Santa another letter/thank you note.

Kate's Holiday Show

Kate's school had a darling Christmas program.  Kate looked adorable with her angelic halo and wings.

Breakfast with Santa!

 The kiddos attended the annual breakfast with Santa with Grandma and Grandpa Weatherwax's (I had to work that weekend...bummer!).  The kids looked beautiful, especially Sage and his sport-coat.  The kids ate breakfast, decorated cookies and spent some good quality time with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Weatherwax Santa Party

 Grandma and Grandpa Weatherwax host a festive dinner each year to kick off the holiday season.  There is always a very special guest who comes to visit!   Each year we take a photo of the children on the couch.  It is fun to look at this picture from year to year to see how much everyone is growing up!

Christmas Piano Recital 2014

Kate did a great job at her first Christmas recital.  Kate played Go Tell it on the Mountain, Up on the Housetop, Away in a Manger and Jingle Bells.

Emma played Little Elf's Christmas, God Bless All, Away in a Manger and Up on the Housetop.

Emma's Holiday Show

Emma had her first holiday show this year.  Emma attended practices before school for this performance.  The show was supposed to be outside in downtown Dublin, however rain drove us inside the library.

Zoo Lights 2014

We took advantage of a nice mild evening to visit Zoo lights last week.

 The kids visited with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Zoo.  Sage asked for a John Deere Truck, Kate wasn't sure what she wanted and Emma asked for a fuzzy pink blanket.
