Off to BG to visit GG!

The girls had a very special vacation last week!  Grandma W took Emma and Kate to Bowling Green for an overnight trip with GG.  Again, how lucky are they to the opportunity to create memories like this.  They left Dublin, swung by McDonalds for breakfast and then they were on their way.
Emma loves to hold GG's hand as they walk.
One of their favorite places to go in BG is Ben Franklin's general store. GG gave each of the girls money and they bought a couple books and their favorite candy. Emma chose sour gummy worms and sour peach candy. Kate got gummy bears and sour patch kids. Yummy.
They went to a park and then they went swimming.  GG was the lifeguard!
They worked up an appetite and Aunt Liz brought over Pollyeyes pizza for their indoor picnic.
This is a beautiful picture of Kate and her namesake.
Emma loves to work on her letters, words and numbers with GG.
The following day, GG took the girls to her good friend's farm.  They fed the chickens, gathered their eggs, looked at the beautiful horses and enjoyed the pond.  It was a windy day in Bowling Green!

Grandma W helped Emma work on her thank you note on the drive home.  Thank you Grandma W for making this trip happen.  What a wonderful vacation and lifelong memory for everyone!

Sage is 18 months!

Oh my our Sage is getting big.  I really feel that we're in a period where he literally learns something new each day.  He loves to talk, laugh, antagonize his sisters, eat and sleep!  He is running all over and LOVES to play outside.  Every single time, I carry him in kicking and screaming and we often get him inside, close the door, put him down and he has his little fit for a few minutes and then goes about his business.

He knows how to pinch, hit, slap and even pull hair and his sisters don't care for that!
He enjoys watching John cut the grass and stands at the window observing every move.  He also loves watching the tractors and trucks work on the golf course from Grandma and Grandpa's house - he is all boy!  I have not had Sage's haircut yet - but how could I possibly cut these precious curls?
We had to have his picture taken in this golf shirt.  Grandma and Grandpa Weatherwax bought this shirt for Sage on the day we found out that we were having a boy during our ultrasound.  I remember when we opened it thinking, its hard to believe he'll be that big some day.  Here we are!
Sage weighs 29lbs (90%) and is 32.5inches (50%).  He sleeps for about 11-12 hours a night and takes a good 2-3 hour nap a day.  His favorite words are:  Mickey, truck, daddy, mommy, ball, cookie, mine, no, buh-bye, hello.  He knows his body parts and his animal sounds.
He was recently diagnosed with an egg allergy.  If he has scrambled eggs, he breaks out with hives on his face but if he has baked items he does ok.  We're hopeful that he'll grow out of it by age 5.  Sage's allergy testing for the top 30 food allergies.  Egg is the bottom left.

Remembering Grandpa Weatherwax

Grandpa/Great Grandpa Weatherwax passed away April 6, 2013.  He was 88 years old.  He lived a long and full life which was dedicated to his family, career and community.  He was a wonderful man and will be deeply missed.  He loved his wife, children, grandchildren (even in-law grandchildren like me) and his great-grandchildren.   There was a beautiful memorial service held in their hometown of Middletown, Ohio.  John noted in the service that we were so blessed to have him in our lives for as long as we did.

Easter 2012

James, Emma, Kate, Hailey and Sage get ready for an Easter Egg hunt in the back of Grandma and Papa's yard!  We celebrated Easter a week early following Hailey's 5th birthday party!
We attended an Easter Brunch with the Weatherwax's.  The children had an Easter Egg hunt, decorated cookies, and made crafts.
 Checking out his competition
 Egg-cellent job Kate!
Some bunny is being silly before the egg hunt at our church, St. Brigid's!
The girls on Easter morning.  Little brother didn't want to participate...
But he's always up for a pic with Daddy!  We had a wonderful couple of weekends celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Spring Fashion Show

Move over Gisele Bundshen!  This past weekend the children participated in the Nordstrom Spring Fashion show.  This was Sage's first walk down the catwalk.  They had a good time and it's always fun playing dress-up.  The videos capture their personalities.  They ask the kids what their favorite things to do and what they'd like to be when they grow up.  Kate said she likes hopscotch and she'd like to be "Doc McStuffins" when she grows up.  Emma said that she likes to go to the swimming pool and she'd like to be a waitress when she grows up so she can bring people food and drink.  Sage likes to read books and he'd like to be a firefighter when he grows up.
