Girls' new room!

Yeah! The girls got their bunk beds today!
I hope that the girls will enjoy sharing a room for at least a few years! Yes, I know when they get older they'll want their own space, but for now - I bet they'll have a blast together. I'm sure there will be an "adjustment" period where they wake each other up, etc. And being prego climbing up and making the top bunk...not so much fun! Fortunately, both Grandma's were here to help!

Go Bucks!

This past weekend we hosted a neighborhood party for the OSU/Miami game. Both of our families joined us and it was a fun evening. It was a great time to take a family pic. What's not to love about a tacky $15 inflatable Brutus! :)

33 weeks and counting...

Chicago Trip - Labor Day 2011

Our family headed to my favorite city Chicago for one last getaway before our sweet baby boy joins us in November. We thought it would be a great opportunity to take the girls to American Girl to get dolls. We had an amazing trip and had a wonderful experience.
We had lunch with the Adamo's. Audrey just turned 3 and Kristen and Greg are expecting #2 October 13th. We went to the Lincoln Park Zoo. It was a beautiful place - and it was free, can't beat that! The girls enjoyed seeing zebras and giraffe's, which we do not have at our Columbus Zoo.
Our home - soon to be the Weatherwax Zoo :) Daddy and his girls on the Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier
We returned to the place where it all started! John proposed to me 7 years ago in the Crystal Gardens at Navy Pier. John and I had fun remembering the good ole days when he would drive nearly every weekend to come visit me while I was in PA school. We've been blessed with a wonderful family and it keeps getting better and better.

The girls waiting for the doors to open!

Emma was deciding between the original Kit doll and making her own personal doll.

In the end, she chose Kit.

Kate spends some time shopping around the Bitty Baby store!

Kate chose a blond hair blue eyed baby.

We stayed at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Chicago. They offered a fun American Girl package. This included breakfast, transportation to/from the store, a personal shopper, decorating cookies with the chef, and mini doll beds and a bathroom vanity in our room when we arrived. Yes, I told myself that I would never be "that Mom." Oh well, we had a great time. I promise I will not wear the same outfits that my children and dolls wear though!

Kate loved the sprinkles!

Thank you Daddy for a wonderful trip! We love you!

Trip to the Lake 2011

Going to visit the Spicer's at the Lake has become one of our favorite summertime traditions. With our children so similar in age, it is a blast to be together. Laura and I have been great friends since we met in Founders' Hall at ONU in 1998! Boy how time flies! We celebrated the girls' 2nd birthday - Kate in June and Rachel in August

Ahoy Captain!

The Weatherwax/Spicer Family

On Sunday we went to Put-in-Bay with the kids!

It will be fun to go back with them in another 18-19 years :)

Weatherwax Great Grandchildren

On our drive down to Gulf Shores, we went to visit our cousins Julie and Ryan in New Orleans. We were happy to meet the newest member of the family, Reese and visit with big sister Caroline.
Two weeks later, they came to Columbus and went to visit with Great Grandpa and Grandpa. Here the girls enjoyed a dip in the pool!

The girls had so much fun playing together, bossing each other around and getting to know each other a little more. We're looking forward our next visit!
