Happy 5th Birthday Emma

Emma celebrated her 5th birthday at Chuck E. Cheese's with her friends and family this past Sunday.  She has been talking about CEC's for a year and how she wanted to have her birthday party there.  Honestly, it wouldn't have been my first choice, but it was all about my little girl and what she wanted!  So we packed our hand sanitizer and had a blast!

The kids played arcade games, ate pizza, sang and danced with Chuck E. Cheese then Emma had the opportunity to get in the ticket blaster! 

Emma and her birthday balloons. When I think about the last 5 years, its amazing to think of the evolution of our lives.  Of course we're biased, but Emma is quite the little lady.  She is charming, smart, nurturing, entertaining, sensitive, loving, and genuine to name a few.  This morning she walked down to our room and she told us about her balloons.  She wanted me to come down and see, but she said hold on for a sec.  She went down to her room, made her bed and Kate's bed and then brought me down to surprise me.  How amazing is that? My sweet little girl is growing up!

Today we headed to Recreations Outlet, an indoor playground, with our friends the Bowman's.  Emma enjoyed swinging, jumping, sliding and flipping with her friends.  We also went to vote.  Tonight, Emma chose to have her birthday dinner at Montgomery Inn, just like every 5 year old would choose, right?  Happy birthday Emma!  We love you bunches!

Halloween 2012 "The Greatest Show on Earth"

The kids and their pumpkin.  Last week we went to Dublin's Spooktacular Event.  We took advantage of the beautiful weather in the 70s and took some pictures. 

This year we did a circus theme.  Leading the bunch, none other than our Emma Jeanne as the Ring Master!  Emma also lost her 2nd tooth today.  Emma's class went Trick or Treating at the hospital in their administration offices, and upon returning to daycare I looked at Emma and noticed that she lost her tooth.  She started crying because she didn't know she lost it.  She told me that she ate a hard strawberry for breakfast and that probably caused her to lose it.  We wrote a note to the Tooth Fairy tonight, and I reassured Emma that the Tooth Fairy would still visit.  Too cute.

Sage as our sweet little Lion

 It was cold, rainy and wet for Halloween 2012.  Kate's face explains it all, haha.  Sage went to 2 houses and then he hung out with Grandma Weatherwax and passed out candy while John and I took the girls around the neighborhood.  At the end of the night Emma said "Ok Mama, that's enough, I am cold. Let's go home."  I think she summarized it nicely!

Pumpkin Patches 2012

Our pumpkin patch tour started out at Miller's Farm in Delaware for the girls' field-trips.  We took a hayride out to the pumpkin patch and the girls were able to pick their own pumpkins an gourds. Good thing Daddy was there to carry their pumpkins! 

We then met the Spicer's at Garden Gate Market in Mansfield, Ohio.  We were spoiled and had the whole place to ourselves!

Our little boy turns ONE

I can hardly believe that Sage's 1st birthday is today. It seems like only yesterday that we were bringing him home from the hospital. Sage has brought such joy to our family. He is a content little boy and has always rolled with the punches. He loves to eat anything and everything that is on his plate (I usually can't feed him fast enough so he prefers to feed himself). He sleeps 11+ hours a night and is wearing 18mos clothes. His 2nd and 3rd tooth broke through this week. He will take a few steps (especially when the end goal is food). He is a fast crawler and loves to go up and down the stairs. He'll throw a mini-tantrum every once and a while and it typically occurs when he doesn't get something he wants, like a toy or food (imagine that?!).   He loves peek-a-boo and pushing cars across the floor. This week he actually climbed up 3 rungs on the girls bunk bed ladder - Oh my!  He is all boy!

  Last weekend we hosted our family and friends for a Bengals/Browns tailgate 1st birthday party.  Besides the Bengals loss, it was a great day celebrating our little boy.

Sage and his proud big sisters.  It has been fun watching the 3 of them grow as siblings.  Emma is the "nurturing" sister and Kate is the "playful" sister.  Needless to say, poor Sage has 3 Mothers!

When we sang to Sage at his party, his eyes lit up.  He knew we were singing to him and he enjoyed every minute.  He also enjoyed his cake.  He played with the icing for a couple of minutes, but once he tasted it, it was over.  He nearly ate the entire cupcake.

Sage and his birthday balloons.  Good morning sunshine!  His birthday celebration continued with a fun day at school.  Sage's primary teacher Tara even bought Sage his very own happy meal from McDonald's for his birthday lunch.  He is spoiled in all aspects of his life!  

Tonight we had dinner with the Weatherwax's and our friends Susan and Nico - a round of applause from Sage!

Party of 5!  Thank you to Susan for making Sage his own cake (above) and another delicious cake for the rest of us.  Thank you also to our generous friends and family for the gifts, cards, and texts!  We are forever grateful for your support.

Oh Sagers, what can we say?  You've been the best.  Your smiles, high fives, kisses, laughs, and recent "motorboats" make us melt.  You've completed our family in the best kind of way.  We anxiously await every year, and we can only imagine what the future holds for you.  Having children always has you looking forward to the next stage, but as you turn one, the baby chapter closes for us.  You'll forever be our "baby" and there will always be something special about you. Many more birthday wishes to our sweet little boy.  We love you! ~Mom and Dad

My "Baby James" is 7 years old!  He loves 1st grade and we'll be celebrating his birthday this weekend with the Cincinnati Cyclones!  We love you James Lee!

Next Top Model?

 Emma had the opportunity to walk in the Nodrstrom Fall Fashion show this past Saturday.  Unfortunately, Kate came down with croup the night before, so she was unable to participate.  Emma looked beautiful, and she looks so old.  Four years going on ten.  Enjoy the pics and the video! 

Sage takes it step by step...

Sage took his first steps on October 4th.  He was at school and took 4 steps.  Since then he has been timid, and prefers to crawl or be carried.  We don't think it will be long before he is walking.  Here is a video of Sage and his walking toy, he is so proud of himself.  Sage's birthday week is quickly approaching - Our little boy has grown up right before our eyes.
