The Outer Banks - Duck, NC 2010

The Zinser family had another fabulous vacation. We traveled to the Outer Banks, NC. Except for one day of rain, we had beautiful weather. We drove through the night going to NC, as well as coming home. The girls did well and the 11 hour drive went smoothly.

James, Emma, Hailey and Kate loved playing together. They enjoyed playing in the water, having craft time (thanks Kim!), and having their nightly dance parties! Now that there are 4 kids, eating out isn't as relaxing as it once was - so we cooked half of our dinners. John and I hosted "steak night." Kim and Jim brought their deep fryer and they made delicious buffalo wings, french fries, onion rings, and even deep fried Twinkies (amazing!!!). Mom and Dad had a Mexican fiesta! Our house was beautiful and the views were amazing! Thank you Mom and Dad for your generosity!

Kate liked playing in the sand, but she wasn't sure about the ocean. Emma definitely likes the pool more than the ocean. She loved jumping off the side of the pool! Here are a few of our pictures. We also had professional pictures taken on the beach and I will post when they're available.

Happy 1st Birthday Kate!

It is hard to believe that Kate turned one yesterday! This year has truly flown by! She may be the most content baby ever. She is just goes with the flow... a perfect balance to our headstrong Emma. We celebrated her birthday with friends and family last weekend. She loved playing her new piano, opening gifts, and seeing all of her favorite people. She did not like her cake though! She redeemed herself last night as we celebrated again just the 4 of us!

She's a rolly polly and that's her preferred method of transportation these days. She'll eat about anything you put in front of her. She transitioned onto whole milk beautifully and loves her sippy cup. She'll shout out "mama," "dada," "baba," and say "mmmm" when she's giving a kiss. She occasionally will sign "more" and "all done." (Kate has not had quite the signing education as Emma did!). She likes to dance too!

We're actually driving to the Outer Banks, NC as I write and Kate has enjoyed seeing the world facing forward in her car seat. We head to the doctor after vacation, and I'll update the post with her stats!

Going to Papa and Grandma's

Emma went on a mini-vacation to Grandma and Papa's house! Papa's school was having their festival and Emma loved riding the cars, playing games, and having treats to eat! One of Emma's surprises was a new bikini! Too cute not to share!

Freckle!

Kate has the most precious freckle aka "beauty mark" under her left eye! Here's also a nice shot of her 2 teeth. We're still waiting on her top ones to make their debut!
