Big Countdown!

This pregnancy has flown by! I am 38 weeks now - hard to believe! Yesterday, we had an ultrasound and things are looking good. Below is a pic - the baby is lying on his/her back and its a side profile picture of his/her face. BW weighs about 7 pounds and was moving all over the place! I am at 1cm and 70% effaced - so I still have some time. But, I guess I should get my bags packed? :)
Big Sis Emma is doing well! Earlier this week, she enjoyed a mini-vacation to Grandma W's to spend some time with her cousins Mary and Grace! Emma tried to keep up with the girls (who needs a nap?) and she enjoyed going to the park, Chic-fil-A, singing and dancing. When Emma returned to Columbus - we all enjoyed a nice meal at the new Montgomery Inn that recently opened - Yummy!!

Catching up!

The Spicers came for an overnight trip a couple weeks ago. The kids played in the yard, took a wagon ride to the park, chased bubbles, and wrapped up the night with a bath and story time! On Saturday morning we loaded up the strollers, headed downtown and walked the Komen Race for the Cure 5k with 45,000 other people! Laura is expecting a baby girl in August!
Memorial Day weekend was a fun one. Kim and Jim went to the Kenny Chesney concert here in Columbus, so John and I had 3 kids for the evening. We were busy to say the least! The kids loved to chase each other around and have "dance parties." Sunday we went to the Reds/Indians game in Cincinnati. Here is Emma was sporting her Indians gear from Papa!

Also, check what my sister introduced Emma to in our basement...Thanks Kim!!!! (FYI - the video was taken on John's cell phone - so the sound is a little funky).

Mother's Day

We were able to spend Mother's day with both of our Moms this past weekend. Saturday we headed to the Nati and Sunday we were in Dayton. I am so blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful Mothers and role models! Here are some pictures of the weekend!

Emma and her cousins James and Hailey! Big Smiles with Grandma Z!

Indy and 18 mos!

This past weekend we went to Indianapolis to cheer on Aunt Bec, Grandma and Great Aunt Connie as they walked the Indy Mini half marathon - they all did great and it was a beautiful day! Congrats!

I can hardly believe that Emma will be 18 mos tomorrow! It seems like every day she is doing something new, saying or signing a new word, performing a new trick, and becoming a beautiful young lady! She knows her name, animals and body parts - above is a clip of a few of them. She is starting to "slim" down a bit in her tummy area with all of her activities and running. I joke that I can finally put her jeans in the dryer - haha. She still is attempting to jump, but can't quite get off the ground yet! Emma loves to play outside and often puts up a fight when its time to come in.

We visited the doctor today and Emma weighs 29 pounds 8 ounces and is 33 inches tall (75-90th percentiles). Have a great week!

Go Fish!

Emma got her first pet today! This morning we headed out to Petland where Emma loved looking at the dogs, cats, birds, turtles, frogs and fish! In the entrance of Emma's school is a large fish tank and each day when she arrives and leaves, she says hi and bye to the fish. So we got a Betta fish - which is apparently a very low maintenance fish! We'll see!

We went to Cincinnati this weekend for our cousin Lindsay's baby shower and then enjoyed a cookout at Grandma and Grandpa Z's. Grandpa Z bought a new mustang convertible - so after dinner we pulled a "Britney Spears" and everyone got to go on a ride. Papa was in heaven!

Mom's last getaway!

Before Baby Weatherwax #2 comes, I headed out to visit Andrea in Washington DC. It was a great weekend full of fun! We ate lots of delicious food, saw the sights and just enjoyed spending time together. Above we are standing on the Georgetown waterfront (Kennedy Center is in the background). One unique thing we did was to get fish pedicures! The fish apparently nip at your dead skin on your feet (as seen on Good Morning America, The View, and the Today Show). It was very ticklish and our feet were pretty smooth. Check out our initial response below. We weren't so sure it was the most sanitary thing we've ever done! :)
Emma and John headed to Dayton for the weekend. John enjoyed some golf, and Emma and Grandma took some time to stop and admire the pretty flowers!

Easter 2009

It was a beautiful weekend in Columbus to celebrate Easter with both of our families. Emma looked darling! We had lunch and for the first time ever, Emma fell asleep in her high chair!

Emma also received a lot of fun treats in her basket- a bubble lawn mower, new clothes and shoes, a lawn chair and even golf clubs! Check out Emma's new shorts and her first putter - If her Dad's dreams come true - she'll be on tour in 2027! John will make a cute "daddy caddy" :)
