Remembering Grandma Weatherwax

 Marcille Weatherwax
3/25/25-1/23/15
Grandma peacefully passed last week.  We were blessed by her presence and she left a strong imprint on all of those she met.  Our children were so lucky to have a Great Grandma like her.  The service was a beautiful tribute to her life.  At the conclusion of the ceremony at the cemetery, the children released balloons up to the sky.
This picture was taken at the Holiday event at Emerald Crossing in December.

When we told the children that Grandma had passed away, we told them that her body was tired, she went to sleep and went to Heaven.  That of course prompted a few questions like "How does she get to Heaven?" and "How long does it take to get there?" etc.  At such a young age, it is amazing that they can actually process the situation.  A few minutes later Kate says "Mommy, I know four people in Heaven.  I know Martin Luther King, Jr., Aunt Julie, Great Grandpa Weatherwax and Great Grandma Weatherwax."  Just so sweet that she made that connection the week of MLK day.

Sage and I were driving to Locker Soccer on Monday and the sun was shining:
Me:  Sage, what a beautiful day.
Sage:  Is it nice there? (He is looking up to the sky)
Me:  Where?
Sage:  Heaven, with Great Grandma.
Me:  Oh yes, it is a  beautiful, amazing place.
Sage smiles.

The kids love being with their cousins from New Orleans - Caroline, Reese and Marcie (Great Grandma's namesake who was sleeping at the time of this pic).

Go Buckeyes - National Champions!

The kids were more than excited to watch the Buckeyes play in the National Championship!  Too bad it was a Monday night.  Sage was kicking the ball, throwing the ball and screaming at the TV - amazing how much that little guy understands about football!  Sadly, after the first quarter we told him the game was over and it was time for bed - Hopefully there will be many more OSU championships in the future!
Sage and his two favorite cheerleaders!

Snow Day!

We had fun playing outside last week during our snow day, now.  Sage loved shoveling and testing out his new snow blower from Christmas. And yes, Sage is rockin' some hand-me-down pink snow pants and boots!
I love this picture!
We walk up to the park with our sleds and the kids ride down the slides on their sleds.
