Kate's 3rd Birthday

Yes, my sweet little Kate turned 3 today.  It seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital.  She brightens up my day, and I could just laugh thinking about her.  Kate has been my "challenging" child this year.  Emma is at the stage where she listens and follows directions, Sage is content 99% of the time, and then there is Kate.   Kate still wakes up once a night and it's the same thing "Mommy Daddy, can I come in bed with you?"  I'll pick her up at 2am and then she'll say "You're the best Mom in the whole wide world."  How do you get mad at that?!?  She enjoys antagonizing her big sister, and she's mastered the throw yourself on the ground act in order to get what she wants.  She sings bible songs and talks about draft beer in the same sentence.  She makes friends every where she goes because this girl has never met a stranger.  We love our little girl and we know that her strong willed attitude will take her far in life.

Today, Kate and a few of her friends went to "Sweet&Sassy" for her birthday party.  The girls put on princess dresses and then they had their hair, makeup and nails done.
The girls walked the runway, danced to the hokey pokey and had an official princess crowning ceremony.  Princesses:  Ali, Hadley, Kate, Emma B, and Emma.  Back row:  Bella and Hailey.

Sage and Daddy even enjoyed the glitter filled day
Tonight we enjoyed dinner...and more cake!
Kate received so many wonderful gifts (and phone calls) from her friends and family - toys, clothes, games, dolls, slip and slide, sprinkler, and a dress up organizer.  Grandma and Grandpa Weatherwax gave Kate her very first bike!

Sage+Swim=Sleep

We went to the pool this weekend and this was our little boy on the walk home.  He is rocking on all fours and is about to take off.  In fact, just tonight he went from his belly to sitting up.  He can't be growing up this fast!

Kalahari

Last week we headed to the Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio because my dad received the D. Murray Service Award by the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators.  My sister and I have tagged along for these conferences since we were children.  Now I'm not much of a water park girl, but the kids had a blast (and the people watching was quite impressive).  We went to a pottery studio and made souvenirs for Grandma and Papa then we hit the pool.
Go figure, my "no fear" child Kate was the first one to head down the water slide - her partners in crime quickly followed in her footsteps.  Sage enjoyed sitting in shallow water and splashing.

Dad of the Year!

Happy Father's Day to the best Daddy and husband we could have ever asked for!

Happy 60th Grandma Zinser!

For Mom's 60th birthday we treated her out to a night out on the town!  The kids popped into the limo to check it out before we headed out.  Thank you to our cousins Mary and Melanie for watching the kids.
It was a fun night amongst family and friends!  Happy Birthday Mom!

Dayton Dragons

Grandma and Grandpa Weatherwax took the girls to the Dayton Dragons game last weekend.  Emma is growing out of her "mascot terror" phase.  She even had her picture taken with Heater.  Kate wasn't that crazy about him as you can tell in the picture. They had fun on their road trip - Thank you!

Basketball

I signed the girls up for basketball.  The class is geered for kids age 3-5.  Emma enjoyed her time and Kate enjoyed playing with the cones, her waterbottle and even sitting on the concrete.  Maybe when she turns 3 later this month, she'll be more interested.  Haha.  This video captures our experience today - if I had only thrown the pom-poms in for Kate.

Pool Time 2012

Memorial Day weekend means that Summer is here!   Last weekend we headed to the pool.  The girls can't get enough of the water, and their confidence grows each time we swim.  Sage enjoyed himself and he fell asleep in my arms in the pool - it was adorable.

Memorial Day and Tournament

My coworker and friend Susan was married on Memorial Day weekend.  It was a beautiful day!
The kiddos headed to Cincinnati this past weekend so John and I could enjoy The Memorial Tournament here in Dublin.  We entertained friends and enjoyed our time together.  The kids had a blast.  They went to my Dad's guitar recital, James' baseball game, and even went to Kings Island. Emma told me she rode the "big" roller coaster and she said it was so fun that she couldn't even catch her breath.  Sister Kate drove the cars and she gave the random boy she rode with a kiss when the ride was over...Dear Lord, help me now?!?!  Thank you to my Mom and Dad and the Nichols Family for all of your help!
Cheers!  A view of Mom and Dad W's beautiful deck on the 17th Tee!  We enjoyed ourselves at their house this past weekend - and they were gracious to open their door to all of our friends too. To top off the weekend, we shouted "Go Tiger" from the top deck as Tiger walked by and he acknowledged us with a wave.
